Welcome to St. Gerard's Junior School

Dr. Deirdre Farrell - Junior School Principal

Welcome to the St. Gerard’s Junior School website. I invite you to browse the pages of the site and to view our school video in order to gain an insight into our school ethos – which aims to offer an education of excellence in an inclusive, challenging and exciting learning environment – where each individual child is known by name and by uniqueness.

St. Gerard’s is a co-educational, lay Catholic school situated in Bray, Co. Wicklow. A total of 250 boys and girls attend the school from Montessori preschool to Standard 6. There is also a Secondary School on campus.

The aim of St. Gerard’s school is to enable each child to develop to their full potential and to help them to use their unique gifts and talents to the best of their ability – in the classroom, on the sports field and in artistic performance.

The curriculum on offer aims:

  • To instil a love of learning in the children through the wide range of academic subjects on offer.
  • To develop team-spirit through games and sporting endeavours.
  • To foster an appreciation of the arts through a curriculum which includes art, drama and music.
  • To inculcate the Catholic values of justice, truth and love in our pupils through the development of right relations with God, with self and with others.

The Junior School is housed in a state-of-the-art, purpose-built premises and both staff and pupils reap the benefits of working in such a unique and wonderful learning environment. I hope you enjoy browsing our web-site and should you require information on any aspect of school life in St. Gerard’s, please do not hesitate to contact us.
