Junior Hockey Plate Win (24th March 2009)
Many
Congratulations to the Junior Hockey Team on winning the Leinster
Junior Plate by beating Newbridge Colelge 1-0 in Three Rock
Rovers on Monday 23rd March
This is an outstanding achievement by this group of players
and great credit is due to their coaches Mr Ken Jolly &Ms
Sarah Scott for bring this team to their peak performances.
The
team showed a great work ethos for each other and a deep kindred
spirit in winning what was a very close match yesterday. Well
done to all involved.

Rugby League Final (3rd April 2009)

East Coast League Final
Blackrock College 13 - St Gerard’s School 11
Many
congratulations to the TY rugby team on a wonderful performance
in the final of the Leinster East Coast League Final yesterday.
In
a fast, exciting and totally committed game either side could
have won in the end.
Your display yesterday gives the school great confidence moving
forward. The true school spirit you showed yesterday must
be brought to next year’s squad and the skill, ability
and fitness which you have must be build upon over the following
months.
Many
thanks to Mr Seamus Jennings, & Mr Jonathan Carroll for
coaching this side to the success it has achieved and many
congratulations to all players involved.
Environmental
Action Day (3rd March 2009)
Congratulations
to all of the students who involved themselves in the
Environmental Action Day on Tuesday last. We are most fortunate
to have a school of such beauty, space and cleanliness.
It
is truly important that we appreciate the unique environment
where our schooling takes place both as students and staff.
We must respect this environment and we must ensure that it
remains a place of pride moving forward.
A
special word of thanks to Mr John Reidy who has put much time
and effort into ensuring the success of all environmental
projects here in the school.
Sailing
Team – 3rd Place Interschool’s Competition
Many
congratulations to the Senior Sailing Team who came 3rd in
the Interschool Competition on Saturday 4th April.
The
Team have now qualified for the National Final to take place
in Schull. Well done to the team of Jill Roy, Ronan McGovern,
Avril Cannon, Chris Cantwell, Oisin O’Neill and Ian
Byrne.
