TSB High Achiever Award 2009 (01/12/2009)
We
are delighted that Niall McLaughlin (5th Year) has been awarded
a Permanent TSB High Achiever Award 2009.
This
award is part of the Oral Communication Examination which
Niall completed as part of his Transition Year Programme.
Well done Niall!

Year Debating Success (01/12/2009)
Congratulations
to Edward Clarke & William Eddershaw (First Year) who
won their first round debate in Belvedere College last night
and now progress to the next round of the Junior Schools Debating
competition. They debated against 8 other schools.

Transition
Year Rugby - Leinster Division 2 Winners (21/12/09)
Many
congratulation to the TY Rugby Team on winning the Leinster
Senior League Division 2. Only Terenure College and The Kings
Hospital have won this competition previously.
The
team defeated The High School on Friday by 20 points to 5
points in a truly spirited and committed fashion. Many thanks
to Mr Seamus Jennings for his dedication and commitment to
the TY team. This is a tremendous achievement.

congratulations to the SCT on reaching the final of the Leinster
League for the 2nd Year in a row The final will take place
early in January. Well done to all involved Players, Coaches

Year Rugby (16/12/09)
Many
congratulations to the TY Rugby Team who defeated Clongowes
Wood College in the Leinster League Semi Final after extra
time 27 -22. This was a thrilling match we wish the TY team
and Mr Jennings every success in the final against The High
School On Friday 18th December.

SENIOR SCIENCE QUIZ 2009 National Final (07/12/09)
Many
congratulations to the team of Ben Blunnie, Daniel Cooney
and Theo Jebb (6th Year) who came 6th in the National Finals
in Trinity College, Dublin.
Many thanks to Ben, Daniel and Theo on a wonderful job and
in particular for the amount of preparation they put in to
the event. A sincere word of thanks to Ms. Catherine O’Dwyer
for facilitating the opportunity for the students and for
her dedication and encouragement to the students.
DCU
Olympiad (07/12/09)
Well
done to Paraic Behan and Neil Counihan of Transition Year
who competed in the DCU Olympiad. This is normally a 5th Year
event and Paraic and Neil will gain much from this experience.
Many thanks to Ms. Catherine O’Dwyer for preparing the
boys for this competition.
International
Model European Parliament 2009 - Bonn, Germany (14/12/09)
Many
Congratulations to Niall McLaughlin 5th Year who with 500
delegates represented Ireland at the 2009 International MEP
Conference held in Bonn, Germany. The Irish delegations resolutions
were a true success with Niall chosen to give the final defence
speech of the weeks Parliaments debates. Many congratulations
to Niall on his total commitment to the International MEP
session. Thank you to all who have facilitated Niall in this
unique opportunity.

Bazaar 2009 (22/12/09)
Congratulations
to one and all who were involved in the fantastic success
of the Bazaar & the Non-Uniform Day which raised an amazing
€23,000 for Local, National and International Charities. Funds
will be distributed in January.
