Rugby SCT LEINSTER LEAGUE WINNERS 2009 (5th March 2009)

St Gerard’s 22 v Kings Hospital 17

Congratulations to Captain Jordan Egan & his team on an exceptional performance on winning the Leinster Senior League title for St Gerard’s School for the 1st time.

This team is built on great character, self confidence & mental strength. This aligned with the natural skills of the team combined to give the school one of its finest days in Rugby. To Joe McDonnell, Tony Ward, Michael McMullen, Damien Hall & Seamus Jennings a huge thank you.

U-13 Oratory Tour Success (10th March 2009)

Many Congratulations to the two under 13 rugby teams who travelled to the
Oratory School in the U.K. at the weekend. This 7 aside competition proved once again to be a wonderful success. We congratulate the under 13 team on winning the plate competition for the 2nd year in a row.

A special word of gratitude to Mr Dermot Mullholland, Mr Rory O’Connor and Mr Ben Armstrong for facilitation this wonderful opportunity for the students.


Fashion Show Notice (8th March 2009)

This Year’s FASHION SHOW 2009 will take place on Monday the 30th of March in the Junior School Hall.

Details of ticket sales will be text to parents soon.


UCD Women Graduates Public Speaking Competition (2nd March 2009)

Congratulation to our 1st Year Girls: Evie Weir, Lauren Lynch and
Katy O’Farrell on their wonderful performance in the UCD Women’s Graduates Public Speaking Competition.


Senior II Hockey Squad - Leinster League Semi Final (10th March 2009)

St Gerard’s 0 v Mount Anville 1

May congratulations to the senior seconds team on reaching the Leinster Senior League Semi Final. On this occasion the Senior 2nds played their best hockey of the season but were unable to breach the Mount Anville defence.

The team deserve great credit for their outstanding run in this year’s competition and have shown great character in winning three games on penalty stroke when each of the games finished a draw. Well done to all involved and to Coaches Ms Cathy McKean, Ms Sarah Scott and
Ms Ciara Broe.

Girls Senior II Hockey (3rd March 2009)

Senior Hockey Seconds:
Congratualation to the Girls Senior II Hockey squad who defeated Wesley College on strokes in the Leinster Quarter Final yesterday. Their Semi Final
V Mt Anville is on Friday the 6th of March at 2.45 in Mount Anville School

Christmas Bazaar 2008 – Distribution of Funds.

The following is the list of charities who have received donations (€1000.00 minimum) through the wonderful work of students, staff and parents at the Christmas Bazaar in December 2008. In total, €23,150.00 was distributed to the following charities:

Art Exhibition (9th March 2009)

The In-House Committee of St Gerard’s School organised the annual Art Exhibition with Cherrlane Art Gallery over the weekend. This most popular and successful Art Exhibition showcased the work of a number of local artists as well as a number of our own students and parents. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of the student winners in both the Senior and Junior School.
