SUMMER CONCERT.

What a fabulous evening! Many congratulations to all of the students who participated so wonderfully in the Summer Concert last night. You have set a very high standard for up-coming students to aspire to in the future.

The depth of talent here in the school was most evident last night through the variety of performances from the School Choir, the Flute/Violin solos, the talented Acapella Group, the Solo Ballet, the invigorating Traditional Group, the variety of vocal duets and solos as well as the multi-talented bands.

Everyone performed owe a debt of gratitude to Ms. Diane Owens for her musical expertise for bringing such a varied programme together. Many thanks also to Ms. Paula Claffey for her enthusiasm in organising the event. To Mr. Cyrille Laurens and Ms. Jackie Olohan – many thanks, we are most fortunate to have such talented musicians on our staff. Many thanks to Ms. O’Connell and the In House Committee for making the evening the success that it was.

The Summer Concert is here to stay. It will only get better from year to year. Well done.

Congratulations to Jamie Judd of 5th Year who has been selected on the student team representing Ireland at the

This is a fabulous achievement and one of which the school is very proud. Jamie has been training for this event for the last year and his inclusion in the Team is fully merited.

Well done to Mr. Stanley for facilitating this event.

Valedictory Ceremony.

On Wednesday evening we celebrated the Valedictory Ceremony of the 6th Year class of 2006.

The moving ceremony led by celebrant by Monsignor Richard Mohan celebrated the themes of wisdom, love and community. It was an evening of reflection, an evening of thanks and an evening of prayer. It was an ending and a beginning for 6th Year students and the ceremony of light gave the significance of this.

Monsignor Mohan in his ceremony focussed on the theme of the challenge of Christian living. He asked us to be true to ourselves and not to wear a mask that hides the real inner person.

A sincere gratitude to all who put so much work into the success of the evening, both during the Mass and at the Valedictory Dinner afterwards.
