SENIOR SCHOOL DRAMA (21st April 2008)

“Murdered to Death”

Many congratulations to all of the students in the Senior Drama Group who presented the play “Murdered to Death”, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday last week.

With each performance the cast grew in confidence and certainly their finale on Thursday Evening was superb.

This is a most difficult and long play and one must congratulate the cast on how well they performed their roles and in particular applause must be given to the work they put into learning their lines.

It was most encouraging to see so many students involved in the production of the programme, set painting, artwork, make-up, lighting, sound and prompters. This was truly a team effort.

A special note of thanks to Ms. Eithne Carney, the play’s director, who once again and as always, selected a show of true excellence with every detail covered perfectly.

Everyone involved should be most proud of the excellence of the production.

FASHION SHOW 2008 (28th April 2008)

Congratulations to the 5th Year Girls and Boys on their excellent organisation of the St. Gerard’s Fashion Show on Monday April 21st.

It was a great achievement for all those involved to have organised and introduced in excess of 100 models on the evening – giving an opportunity to many to display their talents in the integral element of the St. Gerard’s ethos. The wonderful atmosphere in the Hall was a testament to the enjoyment that the audience got from the occasion.

Once again well done to all involved and a particular word of thanks to Mrs. Caroline Desmond for her valuable time and expertise in guiding the Show and her excellent production of the event.

SUMMER CONCERT 2008 (30TH April 2008)

Many congratulations to everyone involved in the Summer Concert on Monday last. It was a wonderful display of the talents here in the school and the variety of musical interests of the students from Trad to Rock.

The Summer Concert has become one of the highlights of the school year and the quality of the occasion was excellent.

A sincere word of thanks to Diane Owens and Paula Hillman for all of the work that they put into the preparation of the evening to facilitate this musical opportunity for all of the students.

Well done to all involved.
