Congratulations
and Well Done to All of the Students who through your participation
made St Gerard’s Day a most memorable occasion once
again.
A
special congratulations to the 200 Students who completed
the Sugarloaf Race.
The
Theme of Friendship for our St. Gerard’s Day Mass Reflects
the Atmosphere in the School.
Well
Done to Everyone who was involved in all elements of organising
the day and a particular word of thanks to all of the staff
who gave so much of their time to ensure St Gerard’s
Day continues to be the success that it is.

Tour – Senior Girls Hockey Squad (3rd November 2008)
Many
Congratulations to the Senior Hockey Squad on their Successful
Tour of Barcelona.
The
Group had two excellent wins against and won both games 2-
1 and 7 - 0
The
group also had two excellent training sessions with Spanish
Internationals.
Many
thanks to Ms Sarah Scott, Ms Cathy Molloy, Ms Eimear O’Regan
and
Ms Ciara Broe for facilitating the experience for the students.
Iceland
Tour - Geography Dept (3rd November 2008)
5th
& 6th Year Geography Students spent four days in Iceland
on a Geography Field Trip. The experiences gained on this
tour will prove to be of invaluable use to the students over
the coming months.

Gerard’s Day – Sugar Loaf Race (17th November
2008)
The
Sugarloaf Race in aid of Temple Street Hospital Raised €9,063.00.
Congratulations
to all Students & Staff who raised the €9,063.00
to purchase new Monitors for the Accident & Emergency
Unit in Temple Street Children’s Hospital.
The
presentation of the above cheque will take place on Tuesday
morning in the Junior School Hall.
Cross
Country (17th November 2008)
Many
Congratulations to all of the students who took part in the
Wicklow Cross Country Championships held in St Gerard’s
School last week.
It
was an outstanding success with so many participants from
the school.
Many
thanks to Ms Ciara Broe and other members of the Sports Department
for their efforts on your behalf.
Music
Festival 2008 (17th November 2008)
Many
congratulations to one and all who were involved in the tremendous
St. Gerard’s School Music Festival.
The
35 Acts and the 60 Participants are testimony to the wonderful
musical talents here in the school.
Many
congratulations to all of the prize winners and in particular
word of congratulations to Eabha McMahon, Andrew Hozier-Byrne,
Overall winners Sarah-Kate Fenelon and the band of Tom Cullen,
Rory La Harte and Jack Brennan.
A
special word of thanks to Ms Ciara O’Connell, Ms Paula
Hillman, Ms Diane Owens & Mr Cyrille Laurens for tremendous
organisation of the event and also Mr Ciaran Nagle for his
role of as chairperson of the judging panel.

Student
selected for Wicklow County Youth team (24th November 2008)
Congratulations
to Anthony Kelly from 6th Year for being selected for the
County Wicklow Youth Soccer Panel. Anthony recently played
for the Wicklow youths against their much fancied Dublin counterparts
and after a very entertaining game the Wicklow team lost out
narrowly with a score line of 4-3.
