Time flies when you’re having fun! Standard VI have enjoyed a very busy first term so far with lots of fun filled activities to enjoy. The boys and girls are all working very hard and with Christmas tests looming it’s about to get even busier!

This term in history class my pupils have enjoyed exploring topics such as, The Celts, The Aborigines and The Irish plantations and they created beautiful projects on a wide variety of Feasts and Festivals from around the world which they thoroughly enjoyed presenting to their classmates. In science class we have carried out experiments making spore prints, testing the transport systems within plants and we have studied the skin. While exploring the topic of Osmosis Seán Treacy impressed us all by creating a time lapse video of our experiment at home which was quite a treat and definitely worth a look!
In religion class we have explored many themes this term, one of which was ‘Symbols’ where my boys and girls had the opportunity to bring an important symbol into school to present to their class. These included old teddies, blankets and toys that all carry special meaning for them.

We always look forward to Roald Dahl Day and this year was no exception. My pupils did a fantastic job wearing something yellow (Dahl’s favourite colour!) and some even dressed up as their favourite Roald Dahl character. Well done everyone!

We have so much to look forward to this term from class activities, sporting events, student council events and planet group meetings and of course the Bazaar where we will organise and run the popular ‘Toy Stall’. What lucky boys and girls! Junior School News
