The All Ireland Inter-schools Sailing event took place last weekend in Sutton Dinghy Club. St. Gerard’s was represented at the event by 3rd year students Jack Cummins & Eli Fleming and 1st year students Sam Cummins and Alex Costello. The first day of the event saw ideal conditions, and our team had a strong start with Sam Cummins posting a 14th in race 2 out of a fleet of 65 boats. Tough competition in the mixed fleet left the boys in 15th overall at the end of day 1. Alex Costello joined the team on Sunday, where conditions were lighter than Saturday and only one race was completed. All the boys raced well on day 2 with the team climbing to 13th place overall in the team event. This was great result for a young team and a fantastic start to the season!
