St. Gerard's School, in conjunction with the Difference Days team, identify projects in the local community that are in need of support.
These projects are usually too expensive or time-consuming for the organisation to do themselves, but make a huge difference in the lives of those involved with the organisation. This is the second year St. Gerard's Transition Year students will be participating in a Difference Day. This one day charity event gives students the opportunity to give something back to the community. Difference Days coordinate the logistics to get the project completed in one day. Transition Year students take part in a fundraising event initially to raise funds to purchase the required materials and then undertake the necessary work throughout the day. It is an extremely rewarding and uplifting experience for all involved, knowing they have made a real difference in the lives of others.
