At St. Gerard’s School our hockey programme has grown from strength to strength. Currently we field 12 teams from 1- 6th year and play in the Leinster League.
We have 2 full sand based astro-turf pitches and an indoor hall which enable our players to get ample training time in key areas during the winter months. In the last five years we have produced 4 Irish Junior Internationals and 1 current senior International player. Also we have over 10 interprovincial hockey players.
In 2015 we won the Leinster Senior Cup for the first time in the School’s history and by winning this we went on to represent Leinster at the All Ireland Schools’ competition losing out on the National title on goal difference. In 2016 we were runners up in Leinster Schools Cup.
We have an exceptional coaching staff ranging from Senior international players, Irish Under 16 Boys’ coach, Irish Under 16 Girls’ coach, Leinster U18 Girls’ coach, the South African National Under 21 coach and a number of Leinster players.
We are the training centre for our youth national squads on a regular basis because of our fantastic facilities.
